Within 24 hours, Miami Children’s Health Foundation raised more than $34,040 during The Miami Foundation’s 3rd annual ‘Give Miami Day.’ Funds garnered through the initiative will benefit the patients and families at Miami Children’s Hospital.

Many celebrities including Thalia, Raul de Molina, Romero Britto, Fantine and Nina Agdal, along with the community of local supporters came together for the children and chose to give to the Miami Children’s Health Foundation on Give Miami Day.

Give Miami Day, hosted by The Miami Foundation is a unique, 24-hour online giving event that allows individuals in the community an opportunity to build a greater Miami by making a charitable gift to a local nonprofit by visiting their dedicated website

“We are thrilled to once again be able to participate in ‘Give Miami Day’ and we are so thankful for everyone who made our foundation their charity of choice,” said Lucy Morillo, president and CEO of Miami Children’s Health Foundation. “The funds that we were able to raise exceeded our expectations, and it proves that social media can be a powerful tool to do good and unite the community.”

Miami Children’s Hospital and Miami Children’s Health Foundation work together to demonstrate their superior advocacy of constantly providing children and their families with elite physicians, incomparable medicines and groundbreaking technologies, no matter the circumstance. The contributions received from ‘Give Miami Day’ will go towards the Together For The Children campaign, which is on track to fundraise $150 million by 2017
