Miami Children’s Health Foundation Welcomes New Board Member

Mayi de la Vega, Founder and CEO, ONE Sotheby’s International Realty, joins board

The Miami Children’s Health Foundation today announced the appointment of Mayi de la Vega to its board of directors. As a member, de la Vega will assist in formulating strategic Foundation policies and plans, securing financial support and ensuring sound management of the not-for-profit organization.

“We are so pleased to have Mayi join our team,” said Lucy Morillo, president & CEO for Miami Children’s Health Foundation. “It is always exciting to welcome new board members, who bring with them a fresh perspective and a different personal approach. I know that Mayi will be a tremendous asset to the board and organization as a whole.”

De la Vega is the founder and CEO of ONE Sotheby’s International Realty, named by Real Trends as one of the top 10 firms in the nation with the highest average home sales price. She founded the firm in 2008, growing it from one office and 30 agents to seven offices and over 300 agents. Mayi continues to expand the firm’s global reach with partnerships throughout South America, Europe and the Middle East. She recently launched ONE Sotheby’s International Realty’s Development Sales Division, which focuses on luxury condominium sales.

“I am honored to join the Miami Children’s Health Foundation board and to help the organization continue its mission,” said de la Vega. “I am passionate about the South Florida community and I am very proud to have the opportunity to help Miami Children’s impact many more lives.”

De la Vega has served the Miami-Dade County community in a variety of roles. She initiated the ONE ¦CIFO Project, a business and art partnership with Cisneros Fontanals Art Foundation, and launched ONE for ONE, a charitable campaign to raise funds for Women in Distress and The Lotus House. She currently serves on the Board of Trustees of Florida International University, her alma mater, and on the Advisory Board of the College of Medicine. Mayi is a Guardian Angel at Jackson Memorial Foundation and in 2013 was honored as a Miami Ultimate CEO by South Florida Business Journal. Passionate about art, she is an avid collector of photography and works by mix-career and emerging Latin American artists.
