MIAMI CHILDREN’S HEALTH FOUNDATION RAISES RECORD-BREAKING $42,040 FOR THE CHILDREN AT NICKLAUS CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL DURING ‘GIVE MIAMI DAY’

 

MIAMI – (November 20, 2105) Within 24 hours, Miami Children’s Health Foundation raised more a record-breaking $42,040 during The Miami Foundation’s 4rd annual ‘Give Miami Day,’ exceeding fundraising goals. The funds raised through the initiative will benefit the children and families at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital.

Give Miami Day is a unique, 24-hour online giving event that allows individuals in the community an opportunity to build a greater Miami by making a charitable gift to a local nonprofit by visiting their dedicated website www.givemiamiday.org.

“We are very grateful for the overwhelming support we received on ‘Give Miami Day’ and every donation is a testament to the extraordinary miracles that take place everyday at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital,” said Lucy Morillo, president and CEO of Miami Children’s Health Foundation. “The funds will allow us to continue to bring hope, better health and a better quality of care for the children and families in our community and beyond.”

In total, ‘Give Miami Day’ raised more than $7 million and is the biggest event of the year that takes place solely online and thousands of people donated to more than 600 local nonprofits. The funds raised from the Miami Children’s Health Foundation will be used to continue to drive discovery, advance the boundaries of medical knowledge, and enhance the way Nicklaus Children’s delivers care.
