MIAMI CHILDREN’S HEALTH FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES TWO NEW BOARD MEMBERS

Peter D. Lopez, Esq. & Ricky K. Patel, Esq. to Join Board

 

Miami – January 26, 2016 – Miami Children’s Health Foundation is proud to announce the appointment of three new members to its Board of Directors, including Peter D. Lopez, Esq., Shareholder at Stearns Weaver Miller Weissler Alhadeff & Sitterson, P.A.; and Ricky K. Patel, Esq., Founder and Senior Partner of Farrell & Patel Attorneys at Law.

“We are very excited to have two new talented professionals join our board of directors,” said Lucy Morillo, president and CEO of Miami Children’s Health Foundation. “Their numerous recognitions and service to our community will be great assets to our existing board and to continue our mission to help children receive the best medical care possible.”

Peter D. Lopez is a shareholder in the Real Estate Department at Stearns Weaver Miller Weissler Alhadeff & Sitterson, P.A. and also serves on the firm’s Board of Directors and Hiring Committee.  He has been recognized by publications including The Best Lawyers in America and Florida Super Lawyers. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law, and cum laude at Duke University.

Ricky K. Patel is a senior partner at Farrell & Patel Attorneys at Law. He currently focuses his practice towards class action litigation and mass torts.  He served on President Barack Obama’s national Finance Committee from 2010-2012, and in 2015 was recognized as one of the Top 100 Trial Lawyers by the National Trial Lawyers Association, and Florida Super Lawyers Rising Star.  He has been an active member of the Miami Children’s Young Ambassadors since 2011 and currently serves as co-chair of the leadership committee. Miami Children's Health Foundation, which raises funds for Miami Children’s Health System to support the newly renamed Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, is currently in the midst of its Together For The Children campaign, aimed at raising $150 million by 2017.
