Michelle Boggs 
President

Michelle Boggs oversees operations of Nicklaus Children's Hospital Foundation, which raises funds and awareness to support the work of Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, the region’s leading pediatric specialty hospital. 

Ms. Boggs joined the health system in 2018 as executive director for Nicklaus Children's Hospital Foundation, assuming responsibility for community relations, stewardship, annual giving and donor relations. 

Before joining the foundation, Ms. Boggs served for 12 years in various leadership roles with the American Heart Association. Most recently, she served as National Market Development Director charged with consulting to top markets across the country with revenue goals totaling $800 million.

Ms. Boggs was also the executive director for the American Heart Association in Miami-Dade and Broward counties, leading with the responsibility of developing high-performing teams committed to understanding and achieving health, philanthropic and volunteerism goals.

Ms. Boggs graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor's degree in English. She is a member of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Miami and serves as a mentor for Take Stock in Children.
 

Richard Perez, CPA
Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director of Human Resources

Richard joined Nicklaus Children's Hospital Foundation in 2003. He oversees finance, talent management/human resources, IT, legal, equipment and facilities. Richard received his bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting from Florida International University. Richard passed the CPA exam in the State of Georgia and worked as an auditor in Price Waterhouse’s Miami Office. In this position Richard worked on the audit of many private not-for-profit clients. Richard left Price Waterhouse to become the Chief Financial Officer for the Association for Retarded Citizens of South Florida and prior to joining Nicklaus Children's Hospital Foundation, was the Chief Financial Officer of the Miami-Dade/Monroe WAGES Coalition. Richard stays involved in the community by serving as a volunteer basketball and baseball coach for several youth leagues and remains committed to his alma mater by funding a yearly scholarship for accounting students at Florida International University.

Michael A. Mowatt
Executive Director of Philanthropy

Michael joined Nicklaus Children's Hospital Foundation in 2009 and oversees Major Gifts and the Development Department Team, responsible for raising critical funds to meet the needs of Nicklaus Children’s Hospital as they continue to grow into a world class care organization.  Michael has more than 25 years of non-profit development experience working with local non-profit health care organizations.   Prior to joining Nicklaus Children's Hospital Foundation, he served as the Director of Founders and Member Services at Mount Sinai Medical Center.  Michael is of Jamaican decent, born in Columbia, Maryland, and has been a resident of Miami since 1983.  He maintains a strong connection with the community and is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children everywhere.

Maria Moldes
Senior Director Programs & Community Relations

Maria joined Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Foundation in 1994. She oversees the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, Corporate and Events teams which are responsible for raising funds for the hospital in order to meet the growing needs of our community.  Her teams increase fundraising results, awareness and donor base by securing gifts and cultivating new partnerships. Maria has a strong commitment to the hospital as she grew up a few blocks away from it and has seen first-hand the tremendous growth  of the main campus and advancements in medical technology over the years.  She is proud to be a member of the Foundation team dedicated to raising funds in order for the hospital to continue providing world-class pediatric care to children from South Florida and around the world.
