AN EVENING FOR THE WELL-BEING OF CHILDREN
Miami Beach Attorney Michael Grieco and WSVN’s Louis Aguirre Hosted Fundraiser To Support Miami Children’s Hospital
Miami Beach, FL - More than 300 people turned out on Friday, September 9 to support Miami Children’s Hospital (MCH) at fundraiser hosted by Attorney and Miami Children’s Young Ambassadors (MCYA) Leadership Committee Member Michael Grieco and WSVN’s Louis Aguirre. The event raised nearly $40,000 for the children.
Guests were treated to a sneak peek of The Well Miami Beach’s new lounge owned by Buzzy Sklar and Shareef Malnik before its official opening and had the opportunity to mix, mingle and sip cocktails provided by Southern Wine & Spirits and Brown-Forman. They also learned more about the world-class care that MCH provides to children in South Florida and throughout the United States, Caribbean and across the globe.
Michael Grieco and Louis Aguirre spoke about the wonderful services that MCH has provided to their families and friends. Miami Beach City Commissioner Jerry Libben presented a proclamation to MCH President & CEO Dr. M. Narendra Kini and MCH Foundation President & CEO Lucy Morillo-Agnetti declaring September 9 “Miami Children’s Hospital Day” in the City of Miami Beach.
Following the proclamation, Dr. Kini announced plans to open additional outpatient centers in the near future – adding to its six existing locations in Doral, Miami Lakes, Palmetto Bay, Weston, West Kendall and Palm Beach County – in order to accommodate the increasing demand for pediatric outpatient and specialty services in various communities throughout South Florida.
The evening also helped the dynamic group of MCYA members grow a bit larger, with three new members signing up to be a part of the organization. MCYA is membership organization for young professionals between the ages of 22 and 45 who have a strong commitment to improving the lives of children in our community and beyond. Members have the opportunity to network with prestigious business and community leaders, meet with key Miami Children’s personnel and determine how their donations can best be used to benefit the patients and families at MCH.
