MIAMI CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL FOUNDATION AND CHILDREN’S MIRACLE NETWORK RAISE $75,000 IN FIRST SOUTH FLORIDA HISPANIC RADIOTHON
MIAMI – Miami Children’s Hospital Foundation and Children’s Miracle Network hosted their first Hispanic SBS Radiothon on December 9-10, 2010 and raised more than $75,000, with all proceeds to benefit Miami Children’s Hospital. The radiothon was transmitted through Romance 106.7 FM and La Raza 106.3 FM with the support of station personalities including Ariel Ramírez, Chuy, Ileana García and Néstor Paz.
Listeners were moved by heartwarming stories shared firsthand by Miami Children’s Hospital’s “Miracle Children” and their families. Patients and family members encouraged listeners to give back to the hospital that saved their lives.
“Especially during the Holiday season it is important to remember to give back to those who need it the most - the youngest in our community who benefit from the gift of health,” commented Ramirez. “We proudly aligned with Children’s Miracle Network at Miami Children’s Hospital Foundation, because of the Hospital’s commitment to treat the children in our community and around the world no matter their medical need or background.”
“Every person in our community who donated during the radiothon helped strengthen the Foundation’s ongoing commitment of providing children and families from South Florida, the Americas and around the world with hope for a healthier tomorrow,” said Lucy Morillo-Agnetti, President of Miami Children’s Hospital Foundation. “We are grateful for the partnership we have with Children’s Miracle Network. On behalf of the children, we thank our South Florida community for their support.”
Children’s Miracle Network is a charity organization whose goal is to raise funds and awareness for children’s hospitals across North America. For 25 years and counting, the partnership between Miami Children’s Hospital and Children’s Miracle Network helps the Hospital raise funds and awareness across the country. Miami Children’s Hospital is the only Children’s Miracle Network affiliated hospital in Miami-Dade, Broward and Monroe Counties.
