Foundation Adds Director of Community Relations

MIAMI CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL FOUNDATION APPOINTS
NEW DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY RELATIONS

MIAMI – Lani Valido has been named Director of Community Relations for Miami Children'sLani Valido web.JPG Hospital Foundation. In this role, Valido is responsible for increasing support for the Foundation and Hospital among key publics to reach fundraising, communications and public affairs goals; enhancing Foundation programs; and securing event sponsorships from corporations, organizations and individuals. Valido also is charged with managing the Foundation’s grassroots program and the Community Outreach Committee and its Fund.

Prior to joining the Foundation, Valido oversaw community affairs and public policy for Miami Children’s Hospital. She will continue to support Hospital public policy efforts by creating and maintaining relationships with community leaders and assisting in advocating for health care and public policy issues. She previously worked as legislative assistant to a Miami-Dade County member of the Florida House of Representatives, serving as a liaison for constituents and collaborating with various state, federal and local agencies and departments.

Valido plays an active role in community development, serving as vice-chair of Strong Women Strong Girls. She also is a member of Amigos for Kids’ Domino Night Host Committee, Miami-Dade County Public Schools’ Wellness Advisory Committee and Beacon Council’s Intergovernmental Affairs Committee.

Valido holds a master’s degree in Public Administration and a B.A. in Political Science from Florida International University.
