TALLAHASSEE - Governor Charlie Crist today recognized Luz “Lucy” Morillo-Agnetti of
Miami as this week’s Governor’s Point of Light in honor of Hispanic
Heritage Month.
“Lucy is an exceptional public servant, who works tirelessly to
mobilize resources to care for
some of our most vulnerable Floridians,”
said Governor Crist. “Her passion and commitment to improving the
well-being of Florida’s children, as well as her community, is making a
positive impact in the Sunshine State.”
Lucy Morillo-Agnetti devotes countless hours to improve child health
care in the Sunshine State and throughout the Caribbean and Latin
America. In addition to her work with children, Lucy is also active
volunteer serving on the Board of LEAVE A LEGACY,
the Miami-Dade Partnership for Philanthropic Planning Council, National
Society of Hispanic MBA’s Corporate Advisory Board, and various other
community and philanthropic groups. Because of her community service,
Governor Crist also appointed her to the Florida Interagency
Coordinating Council for Infants and Toddlers in 2009.
AAA Auto Club South is the supporting
sponsor of the Governor’s Points of Light Award. Walt Disney World is an
in-kind supporter. This program recognizes Florida residents who
