J. David Scheiner Named Life Trustee

MIAMI CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL FOUNDATION NAMES
J. DAVID SCHEINER A LIFE TRUSTEE FOR HIS YEARS OF SERVICE

MIAMI - J. David Scheiner recently was named a Life Trustee by the Miami Children's Hospital Foundation Board of Directors. Scheiner has been a board member for 31 years and currently serves as Second Vice President. He will remain active on the board.

J David Scheiner headshot web.jpgScheiner was invited to join the board by former Foundation President Ambassador David M. Walters and helped guide Miami Children's Hospital’s transformation into a world-class pediatric medical institution.

“David’s lifetime commitment to children’s health care is unmatched,” said Thomas M. Cornish, Chairman of the Board. “We are grateful for his more than three decades of service to Miami Children's Hospital Foundation and are proud to honor him for his work.”

Scheiner is former President and Chief Operating Officer of Macy’s Florida/Puerto Rico. He previously served as Vice Chairman, Director of Stores for the company. Scheiner’s vast retail experience also includes positions as President of Maas Brothers/Jordan Marsh and a variety of leadership roles at Burdines, which he joined in 1972.

A native of New York, he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in marketing and management from University of New Haven in Connecticut.

In addition to his work for Miami Children's Hospital Foundation, Scheiner is Chairman of the Board of Directors for MetroBank, a member of the United Way of Miami-Dade’s Board of Directors and past member of the Temple Beth Shalom Board of Directors.

He and his wife Joan have two sons, Brett and Michael, a daughter-in-law, Katie, and a granddaughter, Sadie.
