Over 200 dancers participated in the 11th Annual FIU Dance Marathon held on March 1st & 2nd. Participants stayed on their feet for 25 hours by dancing and participating in other activities such as a rock climbing wall, bounce house, basketball as well as learning a line dance (1 dance per hour) and performing the entire line dance (25 dances) at the end of the event.
Guest speakers included FIU President Modesto Maidique, Lucy Morillo, President MCH Foundation and eight Children's Miracle Network “miracle” families. Guest entertainers included Mr. and Ms. DM, FIU Golden Idol Adam Bolanos, A Pair of Nuts – Improv group, Ms. FIU, Marlins Mermaids, Heat Dancers and Jr. JAM.
100% of funds raised benefited the Children's Miracle Network program at MCHF. This year’s event raised $114,313.48 (includes cash and in-kind donations).
